Description
Blueberries are native to the Middle East growing wild in all temperate regions, often in cornfields. The name Centaurea comes from the Greek Centaureion, an herb used by the centaur Chiron, who, according to legend, discovered its properties while treating his arrow-wounded leg with the plant's milk. The name cyanus comes from the Greek cyanos, which means dark blue. The medicinal properties of cornflowers were first mentioned in the 12th century. Cornflower decoction was prescribed for irritated eyes and eyelids, for conjunctivitis and in general for inflammation of the skin and mucous membranes. In the past, cornflower was used to treat coughs, as well as for its tonic and aperitif properties. It was also used to regulate menstrual cycle disorders, stimulate liver activity, and increase the body's resistance to infections. Made from flowers harvested immediately after they bloom, Heliami Cornflower EC contains mainly fatty acids and terpenoids that have emollient, soothing and antibacterial properties. Like other Heliami™ ingredients, this organic plant-based product is extracted with high-oleic sunflower oil, which is more effective at maintaining the integrity of the skin barrier and preventing skin dehydration compared to regular sunflower oil.
